Job Description
Job Summary:
The certified respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider. Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure.

Required Education:
-Associate's Degree in respiratory care.

Preferred Education:
-Bachelor's degree in respiratory care.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Mandatory certification in respiratory therapy (Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care).
OR
-Respiratory license (Kentucky Professional Licensing Agency) appropriate for facility location.
-Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care. (RRT)
-BLS
-ACLS
-PALS (except for candidates in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as determined by the hiring manager)
-NRP (required for candidates working with Neonatal population) (not required for candidates in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as determined by the hiring manager)
