Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Role: Per Diem Respiratory Therapist responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering respiratory care to patients, ensuring optimal patient and family experiences. Key Duties: Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, perform treatments such as aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management, and operate mechanical ventilators. Assist in procedures like bronchoscopy, monitor patient status with non-invasive tools, and support intra-hospital transport. Provide patient and family education on disease management, and assist with discharge planning for respiratory-related needs. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards, and institutional protocols. Serve as Shift Coordinator and preceptor for trainees. Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program. Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with respiratory equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and care teams.
