Title Custodian Job Overview The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. Roles & Responsibilities Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste. Operate motorized cleaning equipment Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures Stop at risk behavior of others and self Perform work assignments in a team with other employees Maintain clean work area Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules Take direction and respond to supervision Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner Fill in during staff shortage Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items Use proper personal protective equipment Present a professional appearance and conduct Understand customer service and satisfaction Use reporting systems and understand the environment Qualifications Minimum 3‑6 months of training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license may be required. Completed safety and task training certification. Forklift certification may be required. Bilingual a plus. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team. Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires frequent sitting and talking or listening. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Compensation and Shift Wednesday – Saturday 5:00 pm – 4:00 am $15.00–$16.00 per hour Benefits SBM offers comprehensive benefit packages.
