Med-Surg Adult Nursing - Staff RN

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG/TELE for a temporary assignment in Lancaster, Ohio. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Job Title: MED-SURG/TELE

Location: Lancaster, Ohio

Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3

Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension

Pay Rate: $52 - $56/hr

Responsibilities for a MED-SURG/TELE:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process

Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway

Provide education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge

Provide thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway

Notify physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status

Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate and safe manner

Implement physician orders as written

Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to the proper department

Accept responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care

Supervise and direct the work of Nursing Assistants in a professional manner

Maintain valid licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio

Maintain current CPR certification

Comply with established policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines

Create and maintain a safe and clean work environment and report unsafe conditions to appropriate individuals

Recognize and anticipate the needs of patients and strive to surpass patient expectations

Demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and complete all mandatory education

Utilize strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues

Manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions as required

Demonstrate ability to handle urgent situations calmly and communicate empathically with patients
