About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cath lab experience; IR experience or willingness to learn preferred Description: Hiring process includes profile review and interview with unit manager. Clinicians must reside within a specified radius. Orientation week requires clinicians to be on-site. The unit operates 2 suites with an average of 4 cases per day, a mix of cath and IR procedures. Responsibilities include circulating and monitoring cases, as well as making pre and post-procedure patient calls. Common diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, and pacemakers, with some IR patients in a combined lab setting. The charting system used is Epic, along with MacLab and Siemens equipment. During weekdays, a cardiologist is present in-house and on call overnight. Nursing staff works a set schedule of 4 shifts per week. Weeknight call is approximately 10 times per month, with weekend call every third weekend. Holiday call is required and shared among the staff, including a major summer and winter holiday rotation. Call response time is 30 minutes. In the case of extreme need, floating to other units may be required. Scrub colors and dress code will be provided. Unit-specific orientation takes place over a series of days following general orientation. The facility maintains a cancellation policy allowing shifts to be canceled during the assignment period.
