Sr. Toshiba POS Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is searching for a Sr. Level Software Engineer to support our retail client based in Pittsburgh PA. This individual will be joining their Point of Sale (POS) team in support of a proof-of-concept project that will run to the end of their fiscal. This individual will be taking over some of the day-to-day work while the SMEs on the team move the project forward. You will help determine programming requirements for systems and designing flexible frameworks.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors degree in IT

• 5-10 years of experience in a software engineer/developer role

• Experience with Toshiba retail software products

o Store Integrator with GUI interface and AEF environments

• Experience working with backend Java technologies

o Java Swing, Open APIs, C#, JSON - Design and develop software programs to meet customer and business requirements.

• Coordinate systems analysis, systems development and implementation activities to ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded.

• Organize and prepare program and system documentation according to established procedures to facilitate ongoing support and maintenance.

• Recommend and implement technology and process improvements to increase efficiency.

• Perform formal code reviews and quality assurance activities for newly developed programs.

• Participate in both daylight and off-hour support rotation.

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and training of existing software engineers.

• Prevent unauthorized access to information, assets or restricted areas and report any attempts.

• Produce all management reports completely, accurately and on time.

• Report any type of problems to the appropriate management in a timely manner.

• Communicate well with non-IT personnel and vendors.

• Assist in special projects as assigned.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
