Job Details Posted: 09-Jun-26 Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts Type: Full-time Salary: $67,200 - $91,100 Position Overview Reporting directly to the Manager of Events/Rentals, Sport Camps and Scheduling, this role provides leadership and management for the evening and weekend operations of DAPER with a primary focus on planning, coordinating, and supervising events. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and supervise the evening and weekend operations of DAPER, focusing on events. Work in conjunction with MIT departments, students, coaches, faculty, and staff to plan and manage their events. Coordinate event support services, including catering, audiovisual, and custodial services, with all appropriate providers. Establish work assignments for staff, attend and supervise events, and compile usage data for facilities relative to events and rentals. Provide evening and weekend coordination and contact with the DAPER Facilities Team, Recreation staff, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Department of Facilities to ensure high‑quality event, rental, repair, and custodial support. Schedule student and support staff to work on the second shift and weekends, ensuring efficient operation of DAPER facilities during evening and weekend hours. Plan events and coordinate setups, breakdowns, and administrative duties related to events and rentals, utilizing scheduling software. Maintain relationships with current rental groups and develop new event revenue streams when possible. Train and supervise appropriate event staff, including MIT student employees, gameday interns, and part‑time temp staff, providing professional development and evaluations as appropriate. Work with the Assistant Manager of Evening and Weekend Operations to address day‑to‑day needs such as setup, repair, maintenance, and custodial support, and monitor repair and replacement items. Establish, maintain, and improve customer service in assigned areas. Coordinate and respond to safety and environmental issues facing the department during evening and weekend hours. Implement MIT’s Emergency Action Plan during events and facility supervision, ensuring all applicable EHS requirements are met, including reporting, training, and documentation. Complete all administrative and departmental paperwork necessary for evening and weekend programs and services offered in DAPER. Develop and maintain budgets, manage reporting, coordination, and planning, staffing, and scheduling events in Mazevo; oversee ticket operations at select events and parking coordination. Liaise with visiting teams and officials. Supervise student staffing for all DAPER events. Serve on DAPER and other MIT committees and coordinate special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in athletics and recreation with direct event support experience. Valid driver’s license and current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or willingness to obtain. Experience in employee supervision and computer operations. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and impact‑focused. Collaborative work style, contributing to shared goals. Willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of daily operations. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of NCAA sport‑specific playing and timing rules, Daktronics scoreboards, and A/V equipment.
