Founding Product Engineer

Build the product surfaces that help security, platform, and growth teams understand abusive traffic and take precise action. About the role You will work close to the founding team and early customers, owning product workflows from first sketch through shipped UI, API contracts, and backend execution. What you will do Design and ship core workflows for policy creation, decision review, entity management, and customer onboarding. Work across React, TypeScript, Rust services, API contracts, and data models to turn complex abuse signals into usable product experiences. Partner directly with early customers to understand operational pain, validate product direction, and translate feedback into focused releases. Own production quality for the features you ship, including tests, observability, edge cases, and release readiness. Help define Esper's product engineering standards, from interaction polish to how we structure frontend and backend boundaries. What we are looking for Strong product judgment and a track record of taking ambiguous ideas to shipped software. Experience building polished web applications with React, TypeScript, or a comparable typed frontend stack. Comfort working through backend systems, APIs, data models, and operational failure modes. Ability to talk with technical users, separate signal from noise, and turn messy requirements into clear product scope. Clear written communication and a bias toward small, high-quality increments.
