2nd Shift Welder Fitter

$25-$30/hr+ - EL Cajon, 92020 - Mon through Thurs 4pm-2:30am

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder fitter to perform TIG/MIG welding on assemblies, assisting the journeyman welder with fit-up and fabrication. This role requires reading blueprints, using fixtures, and operating hand grinders. The position is on-site at El Cajon, CA, four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Apply TIG/MIG welds on assemblies.
• Assist with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings.
• Operate hand grinders.
• Weld exotic materials, including alloys, inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel.
• Handle different thickness of materials such as .032, .060, .090, .0188.
• Weld using back gaps.
• Set up weld machines, including adjusting amperage and interpreting weld symbols.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with welding assembly and fixture usage.
• Knowledge of GTAW and GMAW processes.
• Skill in welding exotic materials such as alloys, stainless steel, and inconel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ownership of a personal welding hood.
• Willingness to work on assigned jobs both inside and outside the welding field.
• Ability to fabricate parts under supervision.
• Skill in documenting work, including type of rod used and type of weld.
• Competence in identifying materials and setting on traveler.

Work Environment

Work on-site at El Cajon, CA, from 4:00pm - 2:30am. The role involves handling various welding technologies and equipment, ensuring detailed craftsmanship and safety

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA 92020.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
