Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Psychiatry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ year License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1+ years of experience with Behavioral Health/Psych Description: Position involves providing direct patient care in a psychiatric setting. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care for all age groups. Conducts assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with established guidelines. Meets unit specific physical demands, including significant bending, stooping, and lifting. Works varying schedules and shifts as necessary according to patient care requirements. Has high risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Position requires physical capabilities including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to specified weight limits. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with nursing practice standards. Engages in care for patients with behavioral health conditions, including adults and geriatrics with medical comorbidities.
