Sign-on Bonus Available Athens, GA Full time Nights 7pm-7am Neuroscience Department Overview Piedmont Athens Regional, a primary Stroke center, is home to a DNV Stroke Certified Neuro Science floor. It is a 30-bed acute care facility that specializes in Stroke, spinal injuries, head injuries, and pre‑ and post‑op surgical needs. The nursing staff are NIHSS assessment certified and attend the Georgia stroke class curriculum. This fast‑paced, inpatient unit cares for patients along the continuum of their recovery. The team on the neuro floor is supported by a Stroke Coordinator, PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy, Physicians, Case Management, Social Work, Secretary, Phlebotomy, lift team, IV team, STAT team, and Pharmacy. The Neurology unit provides nursing care to patients using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. Responsibilities The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy. Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios. Qualifications Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred. Work Experience: No experience required; one year of patient‑care experience Preferred. Licenses and Certifications: BCLS – Basic Life Support upon hire required; CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant Preferred; Certification from a Patient Care Technician program Preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
