Patient Care Technician - Head and Neck / Breast Surgery Inpatient Unit

Patient Care Technician positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center are vital to supporting patient care. This specialized unit provides nursing care to patients with complex needs, including airway management, microvascular flap monitoring, and wound care. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably experience in direct patient care or an acute care setting. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40 per hour based on a 40-hour work week.

The typical work schedule includes day/evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays required.

Shifts: Day/Evenings (7am - 7pm and 3pm - 11pm) or Evening/Nights (7pm - 7am and 3pm - 11pm).

Work location: Onsite.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobilization, admission/discharge processes, and obtaining vital signs
• Update and retrieve patient information accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment
• Participate as part of an assigned care team
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required: None
Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
