Job Title

Acute Inpatient / Swing Bed and Emergency Room Night Shift Registered Nurse (Charge RN)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing physical and psychosocial patient assessments across the continuum of care, developing and revising individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Initiate Emergency Room assessments within 5 minutes of patient admission, collect key clinical information, implement nursing diagnoses, and complete thorough documentation including discharge planning.
• Execute therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by the provider, evaluate patient outcomes, and communicate significant changes to all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Directly supervise licensed practical nurses, certified nurses' aides, and ward clerks, acting as a liaison to coordinate care activities among nursing staff, physicians, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities, provide patient and family education based on assessed learning needs, and ensure compliance with established policies and safety procedures.
• Utilize manual and automated information systems accurately and efficiently, maintaining current knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of Colorado.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• Ability to manage a dynamic work environment involving patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English; ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in an Emergency Room or acute inpatient setting is advantageous.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard computer applications.
