Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time

Autumn Lake at Union | Union, NJ
$32–$36/hour | Full-Time | Benefits Available

Ultimate Therapy Services is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Autumn Lake at Union . Help skilled nursing residents develop everyday skills through hands-on treatment, practical instruction, and encouragement under the supervising Occupational Therapist's plan of care.

What You'll Do

• Deliver prescribed occupational therapy interventions tailored to residents' functional goals.

• Guide residents through dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting activities using appropriate assistance and cueing.

• Incorporate therapeutic exercises and purposeful tasks to support upper-extremity function, coordination, and endurance.

• Reinforce adaptive equipment techniques and strategies for conserving energy during daily routines.

• Discuss progress, treatment tolerance, and changes in assistance needs with the supervising OT.

• Maintain timely treatment records and coordinate with nursing and rehabilitation staff to support carryover between sessions.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Occupational Therapy Assistant license and COTA certification.

• Ability to follow individualized treatment plans and resident-specific precautions.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.

• Skilled nursing experience is a plus; new graduates are welcome to apply .
