Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital unit. The role involves collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure patient safety, comfort, and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, treatments, and assessments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor patient status continuously, recognizing and responding to changes in condition.
• Document patient care activities accurately within the EMR system.
• Collaborate with physicians, PCTs, and other staff to coordinate patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about medical procedures, post-discharge care, and health management.
• Uphold unit policies, maintain a compassionate attitude, and adhere to scheduled shift times.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license with valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of recent med-surg nursing experience.
• Possess basic EKG interpretation skills.
• Prefer candidates with previous Meditech EMR system experience.
• Exhibit strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills.
• Show flexibility in floating to other med-surg departments when required.
