Join us.Job SummaryAs an Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Operations Specialist II you will work independently and alongside your teammates to ensure a safe and positive experience for our riders, Autonomous Vehicle Operators (AVOs), and customers by coordinating daily logistics as well as supporting our Autonomous Vehicles during operations. You will report directly to the Site Operations Manager and will be vital in ensuring May Mobility exceeds expectations for customer satisfaction.Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsure that operations during each shift follow rigorous safety guidelines; continuously develop a culture of safety that is beyond reproachFollow daily protocols and track site performance metrics to systematically improve outcomesBecome an expert in quickly collecting, documenting, and reporting feedback on mechanical and vehicle-related issues to the engineering teamCollaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and handle escalations that could negatively impact operationsCreate a work environment that values all team membersCoach autonomous vehicle operators through quality assessments and ride-alongs (where applicable)Monitor health of vehicles at all times using company tools for observationEnsure all vehicles (and AVOs where applicable) are being monitored while in operationInteract with riders as requiredFollow incident response protocol thoroughly and communicate details quickly and clearly to appropriate partiesTest software changes with focus on safety and communicate clear feedbackTrain and certify new AVOs following approved curriculum (where applicable)Collaborate with other sites to maintain consistency and best practices for all; update documentation accordinglyRepresent May to external parties (demonstrations, site visits, Q&As)May travel to other sites for coverage, support, and/or training as neededOther duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesSuccess in this role typically requires the following competencies:Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software and processesAbility to coach and lead by exampleStrong written and verbal communication skills across multiple platforms; strict attention to detail in every situationHigh comfort level with making judgment calls in ambiguous situationsUnderstanding of best practices when it comes to top-notch customer serviceAbility to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organizationProficiency with a laptop and Google suite applications (Gmail, sheets, docs, etc.)Qualifications and ExperienceCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:Required Qualifications:3+ years experience in a fast-adapting and customer-focused environment3 + years of supervisory or leadership experienceValid U.S. Driver's LicenseDesirable Qualifications:Associates degree or higher in Business, Technical Operations, or related areaPrior experience in operations or logisticsWorking knowledge of Google SuitePhysical RequirementsStandard site working conditions which includes but is not limited to:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the timeMust be able to move and / or change positions often when neededProlonged computer useFlexibility to work weekends and adjust schedule to align with site operating hours and project needs, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays as required.Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders (infrequent)Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditionsExpected Travel: 5%-15%Benefits and PerksComprehensive healthcare suite including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
