Maintenance MechanicDuration: 6-Month ContractLocation: Novato, CAPay: $35.00–$40.50/hourScheduleGrave Shift: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AMSunday – WednesdayPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the GMP Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility utility systems and manufacturing equipment. This includes performing preventive maintenance in accordance with SOPs and ensuring compliance with cGMP, company policies, and safety regulations. Primary systems include:Purified water systems (RO, DI, WFI)Pure steam generators and plant boilersAir compressors and vacuum systemsChillers and HVAC systemsHot water boilersProcess equipment supporting manufacturing operationsResponsibilitiesOperate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility utilities and process equipment.Perform preventive maintenance and complete work orders using CMMS.Conduct routine inspections of facility equipment and identify mechanical issues.Install, start up, and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and utility systems.Write and review maintenance SOPs and work instructions.Maintain accurate maintenance documentation to support GMP compliance.Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and service requests.Assign and review CMMS work orders for accuracy and completion.Order replacement parts and respond to equipment alarms.Coordinate maintenance activities with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, EH&S, Metrology, and Supply Chain.Serve as the point of contact for facility-related issues, including HVAC, electrical, janitorial, and landscaping.Provide backup support to the Lead Maintenance Mechanic and supervise Building Technicians as needed.Train maintenance staff on equipment operation and repair procedures.Maintain compliance with OSHA, cGMP, SOPs, and company safety policies.Participate as an active member of the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT).Perform additional duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Desired SkillsStrong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skillsExperience maintaining manufacturing and facility equipmentKnowledge of cGMP and regulated environmentsCMMS and Building Management System (BMS) experienceExcellent documentation and recordkeeping skillsStrong problem-solving and communication abilitiesAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentEducation & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree, technical certification, military technical training, Journeyman status, or equivalent experience preferredEquipment & SystemsUtility SystemsRO, DI, and WFI water systemsPure steam generatorsPlant steam boilersAir compressorsVacuum systemsChillersHVAC systemsHot water boilersProcess EquipmentAutoclavesGlassware washersBioreactorsChromatography skidsMedia and buffer tanksCIP skidsFermentersUltrafiltration systemsCold roomsHTST systemsHomogenizersCentrifugesHeat tanksKey Internal PartnersManufacturingFacilities & CalibrationQuality Assurance (QA)Quality Control (QC)ValidationEngineeringComplianceParts & SchedulingTrainingBenefits (employee contribution): Health insurance Health savings account Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible spending accounts Life insurance Retirement plan All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
