Certified Medication Aide (CMA) - Crisis Stabilization
Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) providing vital medication compliance support under the guidance of physicians and nursing staff. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM, focusing on delivering quality care to individuals ranging from newborns to geriatric patients within a crisis stabilization setting in the Midwest region of the United States.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate documentation following organizational policies. Demonstrate proficiency in patient care aligned with unit and department competencies. Administer, check, and reconcile medication administration records (MARs) while maintaining accurate medication lists in collaboration with providers and pharmacies. Educate patients on medication compliance according to state-approved procedures. Support positive patient outcomes through effective care techniques. Adhere to scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties. Uphold privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI). Foster professional communication and relationships with patients, team members, and external partners.
Education and Experience:
Completion of an approved CMA training program is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Licenses and Certifications:
Current CMA certification valid in the state of Kansas. BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider must be obtained within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of professional experience in a similar healthcare environment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong medication administration skills, effective verbal and written communication, proficient computer literacy, and solid understanding of math, dosing, and pharmacology.
Physical Requirements:
Light physical work involving occasional exertion up to 25 lbs and frequent exertion up to 10 lbs. Standing or walking may be required 11-25% of the workday.
