Job Description:

The RN (Registered Nurse) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing intermediate care for patients, as well as caring for downgraded CVICU patients. The role supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart patients with cardiac and vascular-related diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients with intermediate care needs and post-surgical thoracic patients.
• Titrate drips such as Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and others for blood pressure management.
• Interpret and read telemetry strips for assigned patients.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, cardiology, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Follow policies including fingernail and certification requirements, adhere to the dress code, and participate in a pass/fail orientation exam.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience with the specified patient population.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Pass a 90% score on an open-book exam during orientation.
• Adhere to a 50-mile radius policy, excluding associations with specified healthcare groups.
• Driver's license required at submittal to confirm distance eligibility.
