Material Handler

Position Summary To safely and efficiently receive and transfer of donated goods and related items from the dock to the designated departments or areas. Provide additional assistance to leadership as needed. Essential Duties (Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.) 1. Sorts donated goods into the proper container for transfer to designated areas. 2. Safely and efficiently uses material handling equipment to transport donated goods to the appropriate area. 3. Loads trailers and containers when required. 4. Follows established procedures for the safe disposal of waste, adhering to all recycling procedures. 5. Maintains good housekeeping of assigned areas inside and outside of the facility. 6. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and performs other duties as assigned by team management to include filing in for other positions when needed. Supervisory Responsibilities The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience. 1 year experience in a related field required. No professional certifications are required for this position. The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties. The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check. Material Handling experience preferred. Information Privacy and Security This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI. Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions The associate is required to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds. The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
