Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor Nurse (RN) is sought for a float team position at a healthcare facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The role involves working primarily in observation, cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopedic/neuro, inpatient rehab, and transitional care units, with flexibility to float among these units as needed. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Green Bay, WI
• Shift: 8-hour PM/NOC shifts, with shift times of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Must be flexible to accommodate variable schedules.
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible
• Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 40-48 hours, with additional hours possibly after 48 hours. Hours are not guaranteed during orientation week.
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Float: Flexibility required; floating to various units as needed within skillsets, maintaining comfort in each unit.
• On Call/Call Back: None specified
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart), NIHSS certification preferred (must be completed prior to end of orientation)
• Required Qualifications: Active RN or Compact license, associate degree or certificate, 1-2+ years of medical-surgical experience, experience with venipuncture and Cardizem administration, charting experience with Epic within the past 2 years, experience with ports, Foley/straight cath, and stable drips.
• Experience: 1 to 2+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Charting System: Epic (must have charting experience with Epic within past 2 years).
• Education: Associate Degree or Certificate (preferred Bachelors Degree).
• Special Skills: Hardworking, good time management, resilient, adaptable to change, social.
• Ratio: Day shift 1:4, PM shift 1:4/1:5, NOC shift 1:6 (occasionally 1:7).
• Additional Information: Candidate will float among observation, cardiac, medical, surgical, ortho/neuro, inpatient rehab, and transitional care units. Facility aims to keep assignments in 1-2 similar units but floating to other units is possible.
• Scrub Colors: No bright colors or character prints.
• Billing: Unbillable 8-hour orientation (Sunday - Saturday).
• Submission Requirements: Attach BLS and active RN or Compact license upon submittal; NIHSS certification preferred but must be completed prior to end of orientation. Medical compliance must start within 48 hours of offer acceptance (24 hours for quick starts).
