• Can you read complex marine blueprints and translate them into precise layouts?
• Do you enjoy measuring, cutting, fitting, and aligning steel into hull structures?
• Are you confident preparing joints and staging materials for welders?
• Do you operate torches, grinders, and fitting tools safely and skillfully?
• Will you verify every dimension and alignment before sign-off?
• Can you partner seamlessly with welders and other trades while following shipyard safety procedures?

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications.
• Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and align structural steel plates, stiffeners, bulkheads, and additional vessel components.
• Prepare joints and accurately position materials for welding.
• Use cutting torches, grinders, and fitting tools with a safety-first mindset.
• Check dimensions and alignment to ensure all work meets specifications.
• Collaborate closely with welders and other trades under shipyard safety guidelines.

• Prior structural fitting experience in a shipyard or marine construction setting.
• Fluency in blueprint reading and precise measurement-taking.
• Experience using structural fitting tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical work, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces or at heights as assigned.
• Dependable attendance coupled with a strong dedication to safety and quality.
