Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate, interpret, and diagnose a broad range of anatomic pathology specimens, including surgical pathology and cytology cases.
- Provide expert pathology consultations and communicate clinically significant findings to referring physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic services in accordance with established medical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in a high-volume pathology practice serving multiple healthcare facilities.
- Exercise sound independent medical judgment while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure quality assurance, quality improvement, and compliance with applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate pathology reports and medical documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance pathology services, operational efficiency, and patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in pathology through continuing medical education and professional development.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP).
- Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
- Strong diagnostic expertise in surgical pathology and clinical pathology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered pathology services.
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in a pathology practice or comparable clinical setting.
- Fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty, including but not limited to:
- Cytopathology
- Breast Pathology
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology
- Gynecologic Pathology
- Other relevant pathology subspecialties
- Experience working in a high-volume, multi-site pathology environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and continuous professional development.
- Strong diagnostic accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage complex and diverse pathology cases efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and patient care.
- Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment.
