About the Role:

The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens, uniforms, and other fabric items within an organization. This position ensures that all laundry tasks are completed efficiently, adhering to quality and safety standards to support smooth operational flow. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry items while managing equipment and supplies effectively. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall guest or client experience by providing clean and well-maintained textiles.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying laundry loads.
• Basic understanding of laundry processes and fabric care.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.
• Knowledge of stain removal techniques and fabric care best practices.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards related to laundry operations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

• Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and perform additional cleaning or repairs as necessary.
• Fold, press, and organize clean laundry for distribution to appropriate departments or clients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
• Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies such as detergents and fabric softeners and report needs to management.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
