Environmental Specialist

The Environmental Specialist provides technical assistance and specialized expertise to monitor and ensure base compliance with hazardous waste, solid waste, recycling, pollution prevention, and pesticide application programs at the Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, NY. The position administers the Base Central Accumulation Area facility, maintains hazardous waste tracking logs, coordinates with personnel and contractors, and supports storm water pollution prevention and spill response programs. The role reports to the Environmental Manager and requires knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental legislation as well as hands-on experience with hazardous materials management. Key qualifications Associate's degree or higher in a related field plus two years of full-time hazardous waste or solid waste disposal experience Current training documentation in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) Valid New York State driver\'s license Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental legislation, rules, and regulations Ability to read and analyze technical environmental data and prepare written material clearly #J-18808-Ljbffr DGS Office of External Affairs
