Shift Timings: Mon-Fri (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
Pay: USD 16/hr-USD 18/hr
Position Summary: The Food Service Worker/Dietary Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment while assisting with food preparation, meal service, dishwashing, and food inventory. The position prepares, portions, serves, and reheats food for clients while following established food safety and sanitation procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, food service areas, dining room, refrigerators, food storage areas, equipment, floors, and walls.
- Clean, disinfect, and mop the dining room after each meal service.
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
- Operate the dishwasher and drain/clean it after each use.
- Follow safe and sanitary food-handling practices at all times.
- Prepare, reheat, and serve meals and other food items for clients.
- Portion and distribute meals, salads, desserts, beverages, and snacks to designated areas.
- Remove and dispose of trash multiple times throughout the day.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, kitchen, cafeteria, dietary services, hospitality, or a similar environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Ability to perform cleaning, dishwashing, food preparation, serving, and meal-portioning duties.
- Ability to safely operate standard kitchen equipment and a commercial dishwasher.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and moving supplies.
