About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to take on a pivotal role in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, with a primary focus on commercial agreements that underpin the company's partnerships. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts such as partnership deals, vendor contracts, SaaS arrangements, and licensing agreements. The Head of Legal will also be tasked with ensuring the company's compliance with a complex and evolving regulatory landscape, particularly in areas such as data privacy, consumer protection, and residential rental regulations. Additionally, the role involves providing legal support to the board, product, and engineering teams, and managing day-to-day legal work, from employment issues to outside counsel on litigation. Applicants for the Head of Legal position at the company should hold a JD from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with at least one state bar. A minimum of 5 years' legal experience, with a strong background in commercial contracts, is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in SaaS, real estate, proptech, or a two-sided marketplace business, and be familiar with venture-backed companies, litigation, and M&A processes. The role demands a professional with strong communication skills, the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, and a proven track record of supporting a board of directors.
