Associate General Counsel

SUMMARY Assists the General Counsel in directing the overall legal functions of the Tucson Unified School District. Participates as a member of a general law team, concentrating on advice to and representation of the school district in school law, contracts, employment, compliance, and student matters. See full job description here! MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Juris Doctorate Degree, licensed to practice law in Arizona or eligible for admission on motion. Four (4) years experience practicing law, including two (2) years of litigation. REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense). Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Labor/Employment law. Experience in litigation, special education and school law, juvenile law, constitutional law, or administrative law is highly desirable. POSITION SPECIFICS EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR LOCATION:Legal Services -1010 E. 10th Street FTE : 1.0 - 8 hours per day WORK CALENDAR: 12 month Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
