We are looking for a detail-driven Patient Account Follow-Up & Cash Posting Specialist to join a dedicated revenue cycle team. In this role, you won't just chase down paperwork—you will play a vital part in ensuring healthcare providers get fairly compensated so they can continue delivering exceptional patient care. If you have a knack for insurance guidelines, love untangling a complex claim denial, and want a supportive office environment, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do- Champion Claim Resolution: Own the lifecycle of assigned insurance follow-ups, tracking down unpaid or delinquent claims with third-party payers.
- Turn Denials into Wins: Investigate claim rejections, review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and file timely appeals or corrections to recover revenue.
- Reconcile Accounts: Review outstanding balances, apply accurate cash postings, process allowable adjustments, and handle patient or carrier refunds when needed.
- Be a Trusted Resource: Answer billing inquiries with empathy and clarity, helping patients understand their coverage and statements.
- Collaborate: Partner with internal teams, coding specialists, and external vendors to clear roadblocks and improve first-pass payment rates.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance follow-up, in a hospital/clinical business office.
- Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 basics, and how commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurances operate.
- Communication: Compassionate, clear communication skills when speaking with patients, insurance reps, and teammates.
