About the Position

Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Newport News, VA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple acute care units including ICU, ED, and Medical/Surgical floors
• Support NICU respiratory care for candidates with applicable experience
• Operate within a team of 7–10 Respiratory Therapists depending on census
• Deliver care in a Level II Trauma Center environment with three ICUs
• Float to other units as needed based on facility census and operational needs

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT accepted
• Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Active ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Virginia state license in hand at time of submittal, or proof of a valid compact license
• EPIC electronic health records experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• One supervisory reference required at time of submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NRP certification for candidates with NICU experience
• Prior experience in a Level II Trauma Center or multi-ICU acute care environment
