Position Details: Speech Therapist- Mauston, WI Location: Mauston, WI 53948 Duration: Permanent / Full Time Shift: Days, Full Time

Job Description: The Speech Language Pathologist position assesses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in order to help individuals enhance their ability to communicate and swallow safely. Responsibilities:

• Perform direct patient care: assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Complete patient documentation, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharge reports.
• Contact insurance companies regarding benefits.
• Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions.
• Provide education to staff, including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers, regarding results and recommendations following evaluations and providing guidance based on the most up-to-date research.
• Create in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers in order to provide patient-centered treatment.
• Clean treatment rooms following sessions.
• Provide reminder calls to patients.
• Aid patients and families in navigating the hospital.
• Perform other duties as requested

Requirements:

• Professional degree in speech language pathology required.
• Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
• Eligible for Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in the state of WI.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license.
• Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
• Must maintain BLS certification.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred. Experience in a hospital setting a plus.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
• Strong assessment and planning skills
• Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

• ACLS or NIHSS preferred
