Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients' mental health status, utilizing standardized tools and personal interviews to identify needs.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that reflect each client's goals and challenges, integrating evidence-based methodologies appropriate for their specific conditions.

• Facilitate regular therapy sessions (individual and group) through telehealth platforms, providing clients with coping strategies and mental health resources to help them address issues such as anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders.

• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to refer clients for additional services as necessary, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.

• Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and providing feedback to clients to support their journey toward mental wellness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor in this role will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and various other mental health issues. Our patient population reflects the rich diversity of Huntington, New York, making cultural competence critical. You will be expected to employ culturally sensitive approaches in your therapy practices, recognizing and respecting each client's unique background and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid, active license in New York State as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.

• A minimum of four years of direct counseling experience, demonstrating proficiency in mental health diagnoses and treatment.
