Biomedical Informatics Research Specialist | Le Bonheur | Full-Time | Days

Role Overview This position supports the Biomedical Informatics component for the Children's Foundation Research Institute (CFRI) by transforming and strengthening informatics technologies to support research. What you will do Utilize and implement software and design practices to document biomedical informatics solutions for a wide range of research applications. Work directly with researchers to analyze and translate their needs into technical designs and informatics solutions. Lead efforts to ensure that biomedical informatics systems support and advance research objectives through effective project management, presentation, communication, and organization practices. Education & Formal Training Master's Degree in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, or Public Health. Work Experience 1–3 years experience with informatics technologies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of preparing peer review articles. Experience with web development technologies, scripting and object-oriented languages (PHP, C#, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, XML, HTML5, Web services). Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and version control & continuous integration software. Familiarity with Data Management Systems (e.g., REDCap, OpenClinica). Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Experience developing applications for higher education/biomedical environments and visual analytic tools for large data sets. Ability to conduct qualitative & quantitative research, analyze data, produce publications and instructional materials, and present findings through presentations and articles. Supervision Provided This role does not have supervisory or lead responsibilities. Physical Demands The position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Requires good balance and coordination. May involve light work up to 25 lbs, occasional and 10 lbs frequently. Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, transcription, computer use, and extensive reading.
