Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Environmental Assurance Lead with a proven track record in delivering environmental management on major infrastructure programmes? You will lead environmental strategy and compliance across nationally significant D&B infrastructure projects in Ireland including metro, aviation, rail, water and highway schemes, ensuring projects are delivered in line with regulatory requirements, best practice, and sustainability objectives.Join our Project & Programme Management team and help close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new role As Environmental Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all environmental aspects of major infrastructure projects in Ireland, including metro, aviation, rail, water and highways schemes. You will provide leadership across environmental planning, assessment, compliance, and implementation, ensuring alignment with statutory approvals and project objectives.Working pattern Hybrid role requiring office and site attendance as required, with a majority of projects delivered in and around Dublin.Your key responsibilities will be:Leading environmental management across large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects from inception to deliveryEnsuring compliance with environmental legislation, planning approvals, and consent conditions (e.g. EIA, permits, licences)Developing and implementing environmental strategies, plans and management systemsOverseeing environmental impact assessment processes and ensuring commitments are embedded into deliveryMonitoring contractor environmental performance and auditing compliance with project requirementsManaging environmental risks, issues and mitigation measures throughout the project lifecycleProviding environmental advice and guidance to project teams, supporting informed decision-makingLeading engagement with regulators, local authorities and key stakeholders on environmental mattersSupporting sustainability objectives, including climate, carbon, biodiversity and resource efficiency initiativesCoordinating environmental reporting and ensuring robust governance and assurance processesPromoting a strong environmental culture and driving continuous improvement across the projectAbout youSignificant experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. rail, metro, highways, water, aviation)Strong understanding of environmental legislation, regulations and consenting processes in Ireland (or comparable jurisdictions)Experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and environmental management systemsProven ability to lead environmental delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary programmesExperience working with contractors to ensure environmental compliance and performance on siteStrong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with regulators and public authoritiesAbility to identify environmental risks and implement practical, effective mitigation strategiesGood understanding of sustainability principles, including carbon management, climate resilience and biodiversityExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levelsProactive, collaborative and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environmentDegree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CEnv, ISEP, APM, IPM, PMI or equivalent)What we can offer youCommitment to your developmentLeaders guided by our Leadership PrinciplesA culture that welcomes you as the unique person you areInspiration from colleagues, clients and projectsThe long‑term thinking of a foundation‑owned companyFlexible work environment27 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMatched pension contributionsPrivate medical cover and life assuranceReady to join us?
