Finishing Operator (Plant General) – Light Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Finishing Operators (Plant General) to support production operations in a light manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting in all stages of the fabrication and finishing process while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment used in fabrication and finishing processes
• Perform cutting, shaping, sanding, assembling, coating, and finishing of wood products
• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
• Assist with production setup, changeovers, and shutdown procedures
• Perform general labor tasks such as cleaning, painting, labeling, and pallet handling
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment (housekeeping standards)
• Support preventive maintenance activities (non-technical cleaning and upkeep)
• Follow all safety guidelines and consistently use required PPE
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and plant staff to meet production goals

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing production needs
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (2–3 hours at a time)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable climbing stairs and working in a production setting

Work Environment

• Indoor manufacturing facility with seasonal temperature variations
• Fast-paced production environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality
• Must be flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 40 hours/week + potential overtime
• Opportunities may be available on day or night shifts

Additional Information

• PPE required at all times
• Must complete all assigned tasks, including preventive maintenance support
