Job Description
We are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of helmets, hard parts, and related accessories from concept through to production. This role requires a strong technical background and a passion for innovation in product development.
Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of helmets, hard parts, and related accessories from concept to production.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies to clearly communicate product function, design intent, and manufacturability.
• Ensure designs support high-quality, cost-effective production across various manufacturing processes.
• Build and test prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, thermoforming, silicone molding, resin casting, and other shop tools to evaluate performance and feasibility.
• Design and execute testing protocols using custom fixtures, sensors, and data-acquisition tools to verify product performance.
• Conduct material selection, mechanical loading, fatigue analysis, and tolerance studies to ensure reliability and durability.
• Use test results and field feedback to evaluate, refine, and improve designs prior to launch.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support a smooth transition from development into mass production.
• Collaborate with industrial design, product management, sourcing, factory engineering, and other internal teams to align on performance targets, timelines, and brand goals.
• Manage multiple projects by balancing hands-on engineering work, documentation, planning, and communication.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of product development experience.
• Expert-level CAD skills, including surface modeling.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS or Creo.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, advanced composites, extrusion molding, metal casting, metal injection molding, heat staking, and adhesive bonding.
• Hands-on prototyping experience using 3D printing, CNC machining, thermoforming, silicone molding, and resin casting.
• Experience with product testing and validation.
• Ability to manage technical projects from concept through production.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Management experience is desirable but not required, with potential for the role to grow into a managerial position.
• Experience in composite manufacturing.

The position is onsite in an office setting adjacent to the manufacturing site, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rigby, ID.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
