IT and Network Security Engineer

We are looking for an IT and Network Security Engineer to work as part of the MORSE IT and Security team to design and implement network and security infrastructure across MORSE’s corporate environment, ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our network systems. You will play a key role in making our network and security capability continue to scale as we grow.Responsibilities:Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions, upgrades and changes with a strong focus on network security (implementing/managing firewalls, crafting firewall policies, developing trust zone models, building systems/apps into trust zones) with NIST 800-171 compliance in mindLead network and security projects from planning to implementation to ensure successful delivery with strong communication, documentation, and organizationProvide enhancements to our networks leveraging your expertise of switching, routing, and data flowsConduct related technical analysis & planning for deployment of evolving technology solutions, leveraging architecture standards and design guidesInterface with stakeholders to gather requirements for new projectsProduce simple & concise documentation around project budgets, implementation plans, technical drawings, project management artifacts, and operational handoffs as necessaryLead and mentor junior team members through configuration and implementation activitiesServe as Tier 2 Support for network operations in corporate network environmentQualifications:US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance5+ years in a network engineer role leading the design of large, complex networksExperience with designing, building, and monitoring LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, VPN, WiFi, data center network environmentsPractical experience and applied knowledge of routing protocolsExperience mentoring junior team membersStrong understanding of modern data center network design, both internal data centers and cloud service provider environmentsExperience with deploying and managing load balancers and remote access VPNs and Next Gen FirewallsExperience testing or implementing Network Access Control solutionsLayer 3 segmentation and advanced routing skills Significant experience with Aruba Wireless Environment, Fortigate Firewall, Extreme Networks and Cisco switchingDemonstrable ability to break down and analyze network communications at the packet levelFamiliarity with cloud security solutions desiredExcellent communication and organization skillsCoding and/or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform); experience with network automation processes and tools desiredMORSE Corp’s salary range for this role carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to, prior experience, education, skills and expertise, location, internal equity, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated. Depending on role eligibility, total compensation may also include bonus, stock, 401(k) match, paid time off, medical, dental, vision and life insurance.Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year. MORSE maintains an “open” leave policy that does not restrict exempt, regular full-time employees to a specific number of paid sick or vacation days.
