Job Description
PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified and experienced PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role requires versatility as the nurse will float to various units, including telemetry, medical-surgical, and emergency boarded patients, responding to the needs of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, adjusting to differing patient populations and acuities.
• Float to different units as needed, ensuring proper staffing and continuity of care.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6, depending on unit acuity and circumstances.
• Perform charge nurse duties on small units, including staffing management and bed flow coordination when assigned.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care and assessments using the EPIC charting system.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in the United States healthcare system; Canadian nursing experience is not sufficient.
• Charge nurse experience is required for this position.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge in critical care and step-down units.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Availability to work night shifts, with flexibility in scheduling.
