Position Overview: You will support the collection, processing, and analysis of test data that informs structural analysis, design validation, and product development. In this role, you will contribute to developing data processing strategies, improving analysis workflows, and ensuring high-quality data outputs across a variety of testing environments. You will work across office, lab, shop, and field settings, combining hands-on instrumentation with advanced analytical techniques. This position offers the opportunity to directly influence engineering decisions through data-driven insights and continuous improvement of testing methods. Key Responsibilities: Lead post-processing and analysis strategies for field-collected test data. Process and analyze large datasets using tools such as nCode GlyphWorks or comparable platforms. Develop, maintain, and automate data processing workflows and scripts, including use of Python or similar languages. Support instrumentation setup, including installation, calibration, and validation of sensors such as load, acceleration, displacement, and strain. Instrument vehicles and components for durability and performance testing. Operate prototype vehicles and data acquisition systems during testing activities. Plan and execute data collection efforts, including coordination of field testing activities. Generate clear and concise technical reports documenting test procedures, results, and conclusions. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure alignment of data outputs with test objectives and quality standards. Continuously improve test methods, data processing efficiency, and analysis quality. Maintain and communicate project timelines, priorities, and progress updates. Desired Competencies: Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise. Data & Analytical Literacy: You interpret data, metrics, or reporting to inform decisions, identify trends, and measure outcomes relevant to your role. Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in test engineering, data analysis, or a related technical role. Experience with data processing tools such as nCode GlyphWorks or similar platforms. Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation. Experience with data acquisition systems such as Somat eDAQ or comparable systems. Hands-on experience with instrumentation and sensor integration. Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in electrical systems and data acquisition. Ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Travel up to 25%, including remote testing locations. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. #LI-NT1 The starting pay range for Minnesota is $80,000 to $106,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
