Delivery Driver - Class B

Driver Position at HawkinsHawkins, Inc. is a formulator, manufacturer, blender, distributor, and sales agent for thousands of industrial chemicals and reagent grade laboratory chemicals sold to municipalities and businesses throughout the Central United States. Thousands across a variety of industries have depended on Hawkins for the chemical products they need since 1938.Hawkins is looking for a safe and dedicated Driver to join our team at our Fairborn, OH location. In this role you will be tasked with the loading, delivery, and unloading of products in a safe, timely and courteous manner. While a candidate with a CDL is preferred, no CDL? No problem! We will pay for and work with you to get your CDL!ResponsibilitiesProfessionally deliver products to internal and external customer sitesResponsible for knowing the equipment (forklift, hose, pump, etc.) and process operations of handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT standardsAccurately complete required documentation in paper form and/or on a computer, including shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.Provide routine minor maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipmentMaintain housekeeping standardsApply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identifiedAbility to safely operate independently while adhering to all company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s and Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulationsPerform other miscellaneous related duties, as neededRequirementsHighschool diploma or equivalent1-3 years previous driving experience preferredAble to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (must be 21+ to obtain) and a driving record that meets company requirementsCurrently holding a Class B CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements preferredSatisfactory driving recordsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsBasic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience preferredExperience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferredAble to pass a DOT physical and drug screeningPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pullingAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and laddersAbility to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when requiredAbility to safely operate an industrial forklift when requiredWilling and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditionsWilling to work around chemicals and industrial machineryTravel: Travel varies from 0% - 20%Expected Compensation: $27.00/hr + 5% bonus eligibilityHawkins offers eligible employees and their dependents comprehensive benefits, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD/STD and more.
