Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Senior Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial gate, door, and access control systems. This is a senior-level field position for a technician who can independently handle complex service calls, provide excellent customer service, and serve as a technical resource and mentor to other technicians.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with  automatic gate operators, commercial overhead doors, access control systems, and related low-voltage equipment .

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial automatic gate and door systems.
• Service  slide gates, swing gates, barrier arms, overhead doors, roll-up doors, dock equipment, and related systems .
• Troubleshoot gate operators, motors, control boards, loops, photo eyes, safety devices, and other components.
• Diagnose and repair access control equipment, including card readers, keypads, intercoms, maglocks, electric strikes, and associated low-voltage wiring.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting using meters, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential equipment failures or safety concerns.
• Provide customers with clear explanations of equipment issues, recommended repairs, and system conditions.
• Accurately document service work, materials used, findings, and recommended follow-up repairs.
• Assist with complex installations, equipment upgrades, and system modifications as needed.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level technicians.
• Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Follow company procedures, manufacturer requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable safety regulations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation when required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field service experience with commercial gates, overhead doors, access control, or similar electromechanical systems preferred.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with automatic gate operators and commercial door systems.
• Strong understanding of  electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems .
• Experience with manufacturers such as LiftMaster, DoorKing, HySecurity, FAAC, Viking, Linear, or similar equipment preferred.
• Experience with commercial overhead and roll-up door systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Access control, CCTV, intercom, or security system experience is a plus.
• Ability to independently diagnose complex field issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to train and mentor less-experienced technicians.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or elevated areas.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other field equipment.
