Job Title: Logistics Coordinator About the Company

A third-party logistics (3PL) provider that specializes in coordinating the movement of critical freight for customers across the United States. Acting as a “middleman,” they connect manufacturers with transportation carriers to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered efficiently, on time, and cost-effectively.

The company primarily supports clients in the automotive and manufacturing industries, handling time-sensitive parts essential to production operations.

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing customer shipments from start to finish. You will work directly with customers via phone to understand their transportation needs, determine the best shipping solutions, and ensure successful delivery through tracking and communication.

This is an entry-level opportunity within Ascent’s Operations Center, which includes three teams:

• Delivery Assurance
• Freight Forwarding
• Air Charter

Each team supports different stages of the logistics process but shares similar responsibilities focused on customer service and shipment coordination.

• Communicate with customers to understand shipping needs and timelines
• Determine the most efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions
• Coordinate shipment details (e.g., number of pallets, truck requirements, routing)
• Source and work with carriers (trucking companies) to arrange transport
• Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
• Monitor shipments and proactively address delays or issues
• Provide consistent updates and customer support throughout the process
• Maintain accurate data entry and documentation within systems

• Strong customer service and communication skills (phone-based)
• Data entry and typing skills (minimum 30 WPM)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, or service delivery (preferred but not required)
• Experience in a call center or high-volume phone environment
• Sales or negotiation experience is a strong plus

• Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Clear and confident phone communication
• Detail-oriented mindset
• Interest in logistics and customer service

• Tuesday - Saturday. 3:30pm-11:30pm

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belleville, MI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Belleville,MI.
