Material Handler (2nd Shift)

We are seeking a full-time material handler at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, inputting data, processing shipping, consumer and retail returns, tracking orders and other inventory movement, reboxing units for return to stock, and reworking/repairing product with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean warehouse work environment.

Essential functions include the ability to flex within warehouse functions including raw materials, reverse logistics and finished goods. You may be responsible for accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement. You may pull/audit material as required for kanban, shop order, move order or sales order requirements. You may issue/transact material requested through material withdrawal forms. You may receive, transact, and sort inbound material. You may do replenishment of material into primary picking locations. You may ensure first in/first out (FIFO) and last in/first out (LIFO) policies are adhered to as defined in departmental procedures. You may follow electronic static discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials if applicable. You may pack materials to ensure adequate delivery to internal/external customers. You may be responsible to perform cycle counts as required. You must meet quality/productivity metrics. You must perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment. You must meet all safety standards/policies. You must be able to accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and to be held accountable for their successful completion. You must be able to work variable and flexible hours including overtime. You must comply with Garmin's attendance policy. You must be able to operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment safely/efficiently such as a dock stocker or powered pallet jack depending on departmental responsibilities. You must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility. You must possess the ability to visually distinguish minor cosmetic imperfections and defects on Garmin products.

Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (static dissipative footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards.

Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. You must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility. You must be able to use an RF scanner. Demonstrated computer proficiency is required.

Desired qualifications include previous warehouse or related experience, database experience including Microsoft Excel and Access, and previous Oracle experience.
