Senior Maintenance Technician – Automotive Manufacturing Location: Newark, CA Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, with alternating Sundays as needed Job Description We are hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician for a company in the automotive manufacturing industry that produces and assembles automotive components. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting manufacturing equipment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment. Experience with injection molding equipment is a plus. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues affecting production equipment. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, scheduled maintenance, and equipment adjustments to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime. Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V. Mechanical Repairs: Maintain and repair industrial machinery, production equipment, and mechanical components. Production Support: Respond promptly to equipment issues and work with production teams to maintain manufacturing schedules. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintenance procedures. PLC and Robotics Support: Assist with troubleshooting automated equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and robotic systems as needed. Safety Compliance: Follow established safety procedures, company policies, and applicable workplace regulations. Documentation: Document maintenance activities, report equipment issues, and communicate safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with production and maintenance personnel to resolve issues and maintain smooth plant operations. Qualifications Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Senior Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including 24V–480V systems. Strong mechanical maintenance and repair skills. Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems. Computer skills for maintenance documentation and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize safety and work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with injection molding equipment. Exposure to PLCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems. Basic welding experience. Experience in automotive parts manufacturing or assembly.
