Provides leadership for workforce education programs and workforce pathways in Business, Computer Information Systems, Human Services, Emergency Services, Criminal Justice, as well as related institutional and grant-funded programs such as Alternative Teacher Certification and Adult Education and Literacy. The position is responsible for advancing and managing many of the College's workforce programs and initiatives. This role provides leadership in faculty development, program management, curriculum design, and resource management to support workforce and community needs. Receives general direction from the Vice President of Instruction & Student Engagement and exercises supervision over support and professional staff.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA: The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired: Knowledge of: 1. Community college mission, governance, and workforce education practices; 2. Workforce development programs, workforce pathways, and career and technical education initiatives; 3. Curriculum development, program assessment, and instructional best practices in higher education; 4. Federal, state, and local regulations related to higher education, workforce programs, and grant administration; 5. Budgeting, fiscal management, and resource allocation in an academic division; 6. Accreditation standards, institutional policies, and compliance requirements; 7. Community, industry, and workforce partner engagement to support program development and student success; 8. Student success strategies and support services in a community college environment; Skill in: 9. Leadership and supervision of faculty, staff, and program administrators; 10. Strategic planning, program development, and implementation of workforce initiatives; 11. Effective verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders; 12. Data analysis to inform decision-making, program improvement, and resource planning; 13. Management of multiple programs, projects, and priorities in a complex organizational environment; 14. Development of collaborative partnerships with business, industry, community organizations, and government agencies; 15. Conflict resolution, problem-solving, and sound decision-making; Ability to: 16. Lead and support workforce and public service programs aligned with institutional and community workforce needs; 17. Develop, evaluate, and improve academic and workforce programs to support student success and regional workforce demands; 18. Manage budgets, grants, and resources effectively while ensuring regulatory compliance; 19. Work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, external partners, and community stakeholders; 20. Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development within the division; 21. Provide caring, high-quality service by creating welcoming experiences, communicating clearly and proactively, addressing needs with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring individuals are thoughtfully connected to appropriate resources.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips (e.g., for college or program activities). Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Experience: Three or more years of work experience in increasingly responsible leadership roles in a workforce program or related positions
