Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,134 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Urbana, Illinois. The role requires 36 hours per week across 12‑hour daytime shifts. Primary Responsibilities Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity. Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families. Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols. Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency treatments. Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs. Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice. Take and monitor vital signs, addressing deviations to prevent complications. Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, and protocols. Document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR. Initiate patient education plans tailored to needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Perform other duties within scope of practice and adhere to safety protocols. Required Qualifications One year of recent ER RN experience. Valid RN license in Illinois. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Neonatal Patient Care (ENPC) certification. Preferred Qualifications TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications. Other relevant certifications or licenses. Essential Skills & Physical Requirements Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills. Physical: Ability to remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal: Collaborate effectively with professional and ancillary personnel. Technical/Motor: Fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use equipment. Mental: Handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision.
