Summary Of Responsibility:
As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, designing and installing machinery or equipment in an industrial environment using state-of-the-art instruments, advanced computer systems and knowledge of programming and engineering. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
- Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
- Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills
- Developing/implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, and/or multi-tasking machines
- Possessing and maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
Qualifications And Competencies:
- 2 year Technical Degree in Manufacturing Technology (Preferred)
- 3+ years of Machine Programming and Set-Up Experience (Okuma/Tsugami Experience Preferred)
- Fanuc Control Experience
- Mitsubishi Control Experience
- CAM Programming Experience
- G&M Code Programming Experience
- Tolerance for travel and overnight stays (Home/Customer Sites => 80/20 split)
- Willingness to be trained into other machines beyond our flagship lines, Okuma & Tsugami.

Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises.
- Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects.
- Ability to sit for prolonged period of times.
- Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees.
- Ability to frequently use hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites that may involve tight timelines, changing priorities, and interaction with customers and team members.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment.
- Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas.
- Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
