Maintenance TechnicianChildrens Receiving Home - Sacramento, CA 95821OverviewSalary Range $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage Negligible Category FacilitiesDescriptionPosition: Maintenance Technician Department: Facilities Reports To: Operations & Maintenance Manager FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-ExemptPosition Summary: Under the supervision of the Operation & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs skilled & semi-skilled upkeep and repair tasks on the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento's (CRH) buildings and grounds. In the absence of the Operations & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will provide back up.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance duties, including drywall repair, painting, minor electrical repairs, concrete, mill work, lock smith, plumbing, basic carpentry, and window repairKnowledge of the use and operation and maintenance of all hand toolsResponsible for the operation and maintenance of all powered and non-powered equipment associated with the care of Children's Receiving Home (CRH) campusProvide support to CRH staff by completing work orders via Computerize Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Coordinate with CRH staff to ensure timing of work causes minimal disruption for clients and staffDiagnosing and troubleshooting physical plant equipment issues as neededResponsible for maintaining clean aesthetic of indoor and outdoor areas of all CRH buildings and groundsKeep inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisorWork with and maintain relationships with third party contracted vendorsRespond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairsComply with California OSHA safety and CRH health regulations.Other duties as assignedQualificationsQualifications:Ability to use relevant equipment and hand tools & power tools to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks involving a basicKnowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems (HVAC, appliances, etc.)Ability to read and interpret California OSHA & CRH safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, user manuals, etc.Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisorsAbility to maintain a professional, confidential work environmentAbility to maintain attendance at assigned location(s)Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an efficient manner, setting priorities based on importanceExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to follow oral and written instructionAbility to work cooperatively with staff, children, and the publicAbility to work outside of normal work hours on occasion for business needsLanguage Ability:Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, residence, or employees of organization.Computer Skills:Will have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Internet Explorer.Education/Experience:A high school diploma or GED is required.Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:Must possess a valid California Driver's License.Must be at least 21 years of age.Must pass First Aid certification course before start of employment. Certification can be completed through the Children's Receiving Home.Must pass CPR within the first six weeks of employment.Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification courses offered through the Children's Receiving Home within the first three months of employment.Must maintain TCI, CPR, First Aid and BBP Certification throughout employment.Must complete online Mandated Reporter Training within first week of employment.Knowledge, Skills and Other AbilitiesMust be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.Excellent writing skills.Good communication skills.Good organizational skills.Good time management skills.Skill to maintain a professional, confidential work environment.Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an efficient manner.Excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to perform a variety of skilled & semi-skilled tasks involving a limited knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and gardening work.Knowledge of the use and operation and maintenance of all hand toolsAbility to follow oral and written instruction.Ability to work cooperatively with staff, children, and the public.Knowledge of growth, development, and needs of CRH clients involved in the Emancipation program.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
