Occupational Health Nurse

Completes accurate pre-employment health assessments as part of the organization's onboarding process. This includes health history, legal drug screening, respirator fit testing, and vaccination compliance. Appropriately requests medical records to validate work restrictions. Manages work injuries and workers' compensation claims following applicable statutes. This includes filing the First Report of Injury and acting as a liaison between the team member, manager, healthcare provider, insurer, and union representative as appropriate. Conducts ergonomic assessments, medical surveillance, fitness-for-duty evaluations, reasonable suspicion determinations, hearing conservation, workplace violence assessments, and other occupational health evaluations. Coordinates compliance with regulatory agency requirements, including OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and CDC. Supports and advocates for team member wellness and health promotion. Assists team members with general health issues and concerns. Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals. Accountable for demonstrating proficiency in the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list. Responsible for maintaining skill proficiency, including improvement where necessary and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.
