Positions details:

• Location: Morton Plant Hospital – Neuro ICU/CCU – Clearwater, Florida
• This unit will treat neurological, medical, surgical and cardiovascular ICU patients
• Status: Full time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (registered nurse) license
• Diploma, associate's, bachelor's or higher in nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an acute care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The registered nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
